Alongside her job, she did her doctorate at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern with a focus on "Improving the sustainability of qualification measures and evaluation methods".

During her studies, she began her professional life as a freelance social consultant at Robert Murjahn's Deutsche Amphibolin Werke (DAW SE). There she was involved in corporate addiction prevention, developed a health promotion program and introduced it successfully.

She then switched to the chemical industry trade association (BG Chemie) and worked for over 18 years in the training and further education department as a lecturer and finally as a department head. According to the motto "educating people does not mean filling a vessel, but kindling a fire for occupational safety (derived from Aristophanes, 446 - 386 BC)" she trained, among other things, executives, specialists for occupational safety and developed programs for the qualification of different target groups in the chemical industry.

Leadership, communication, conflict management, instruction, health management and addiction prevention were (or were) part of her professional focus.

From 2010 - 2022 she successfully headed the education management department at the trade association for raw materials and the chemical industry.

She has experience in consulting SMEs as well as well-known international corporations, mainly in the chemical and steel production sectors. In this context, she was involved in the development and consolidation of culture development processes with focus on employee safety and health.

At several employers' liability insurance associations, she sensitizes and qualifies managers, safety officers and safety specialists in training and education for their activities with a focus on behavior-related measures in occupational safety, communication and effective instruction.

In addition to clarifying roles and responsibilities, the topic of communication is also one of the focal points in coaching managers in individual settings. Yvonne Romina Demir is a qualified psychologist and occupational safety specialist. She has been working in occupational health and safety at the science and technology group Merck in Darmstadt since 2009.

She held various management positions since 2017, including various project management roles relating to safety culture and a global health program.

Since 2014, she is also a lecturer on mental health in the workplace for the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the raw materials and chemical industry.
